Back Up Rings

Integrity Fusion Products offers a line of Convoluted Ductile Iron Backup Rings manufactured from ASTM A536 grade 65-45-12, and a line of class 150 Convoluted Stainless Steel Backup Rings manufactured from ASTM A351CF8M (316) 70/30/30 material and are available in a variety of nominal IPS and DIPS HDPE pipe diameters and SDR ratings. Back-Up Rings are ridged rings used in conjunction with HDPE Flange Adapters to essentially act as a transition piece between a polyethylene system and a non-polyethylene system by providing a mechanical connection to join a polyethylene (PE) pipe, to a non-polyethylene component with a flanged connection. Flanged joints that use Back-Up Rings allows for easy assembly and disassembly between the two different pipe materials. Backup Rings are designed to match the ANSI/ASME B16.5 bolt pattern and dimensions of other flanged components typically used in applications where polyethylene pipes need to be connected. The Back-Up Ring is matched to the steel pipe flange specification and is placed behind the HDPE flange adapter and the back-up ring supports and compresses the HDPE flange adapter against the steel flange and creates an effective connection between the two piping materials.

All Integrity Fusion Products Back-Up Rings are manufactured to comply to the drilling and mating requirements in ANSI/ASME B16.5 and AWWA C207 for use in applications 24″ and smaller; and with ANSI/ASME B16.47 and AWWA C207 for use in applications 26″ and larger.
